Sticking Up for One's President (-elect): A Primer for Those Who Did Such a Crappy Job of Such in the Past, Particularly the Past 8 Years

(Yeah, it's been a while since the first post...I was a bit too heated up to post during the election, I think. I didn't trust myself to refrain from going over the line. It's bad enough to do that in my heart, or in conversation with trusted friends or family; I really don't want to do that in a public forum, NOT that anyone beside me has read anything on this blog yet.)

(DISCLAIMER: I'm about to use our President-elect's full name, INCLUDING THE MIDDLE ONE. Yup, I'm about to drop the H-bomb. However, it's not because I'm a crypto-racist trying to emphasize his foreign-ness, or because I want to imply he's a Stealth Muslim. It's to honor the next occupant of the Oval Office, and it's for emphasis: we tend to use all of a person's name in a "HERE's who we're dealing with" way. Occasionally, some will add what I'll call an impolite intensifier in the middle ("John F#@$ing Wayne"), but I suspect in the years to come I'll be using one of those QUITE often, and definitely NOT to honor the man, and there's plenty of time for that later.)

Barack Hussein Obama is the President-elect.

I didn't vote for him, and I am not optimistic about his presidency. I personally think the best-case scenario is "Clinton's Third Term" (not being a fan of WJC, that's grim enough): instinctively liberal-statist but well-restrained by a fine sense of political self-preservation and focus-grouped and trial-ballooned into something relatively centrist. I think the middle-case scenario is "Carter's Second Term," and that should be enough to make anybody who doesn't actively loathe America lose sleep.

The worst-case scenario...well, the "So-and-so's Xth Term" bit fails me here, because we haven't really had any antecedents for that in America. We'd have to look to Europe for political leaders THAT screwed up.

But here's the point of all this: he's gonna be our President in short order, and we should all be rooting for him, praying that God will share His wisdom with this man who will shortly have more power than any non-Jesus person should have.

Here's the case in point which motivated this post: Ayman al-Zawahiri released a statement in which he referred to the President-elect of the United States of America as either a "house slave" (the more literal translation from the Arabic, according to AP) or "house Negro" (the Al Qaeda-supplied English translation).

My initial response, in abbreviated form, was pretty much "STFU", but then I thought better of it. The abbreviation still fits, but I think I'll go with "SPEAK The F#$^ Up," instead...if he gets just a little bit louder, hopefully the NSA will hear. I understand those caves have a WICKED echo.
